I JUST BOUGHT A HOME!!! Yep, I did it. :O) I even used a coupon... kind of. I mean, it is a repo, so it's a great deal. It's owned by Fannie Mae, so let's just look at it like a government coupon.
So very glad I voted for Obama. "PAY IT FORWARD!!", I yelled. And he did.
I'm just telling you this because I might be a bit slow, or off, or lame or whatever for the next little while. But I love this blog, so I'll be around.
XOXO

BUY-LOW match-ups for Walmart
Well, I'm VERY sorry that the Wednesday match-ups didn't get posted yesterday. That would be my fault because I was flat in bed with vertigo, and I just couldn't even think straight most of the day. Do forgive me! You missed out on broccoli, oranges and red delicious apples, but that's all. *whew*
HOWEVER, here are the good match-ups for the rest of the week:
.88 frozen OJ
2lb/$1 Fuji apples
3/$1 iceberg lettuce
2/$1 avacados
.88 per box Barilla pasta (Last time this was the sale, I SCORED on the pasts "nests" at Walmart. They were $3.49 normally, but a box is a box, right?)
Major HEADS-UP alert:
At Smith's the Kelloggs boxes with $5 worth of coupons are back...the ones we open before buying. They are on sale for 4/$10 and you get 2 milks free when you buy four (at Smith's). Snatching up some Kelloggs coupons would be great this week or next. Remember that they are manufacturer coupons which means if there are fruit or dairy coupons in the boxes, we can use them at Walmart... when matching up with BuyLow.

Free Soap on a Rope... er... in a net.

This is one of my favorite coupons. I don't know why, but it is. I have a PLETHORA of these little Buddies bars in my stockpile room, and my friends who have added babies to their families this last year can testify to the fact that I love to give these for baby gifts. ...yes, I know I am cheap, but I'm also very resourceful and practical. Think on THAT for a sec. ;o)
FYI, these are little bars of soap that have a green "netting" around them which makes it so they don't slip out of little (or big) hands when they are wet. Not only are they slippery-less, they also allow you to get every last bit of soap from the bar. It's great!
Print this coupon for $1 off any Johnson’s Baby Product here then use it to buy the Johnson’s Buddies soap bars which are priced around $0.99 at most stores.
**ALWAYS print two! ...and remember to print from lots of computers!
Death by initiation... or WHO'S YOUR COUPON MAMA???
So, I just read one of those forwarded e-mails that we all HATE to get. You know, the ones that we can disprove by going to snopes.com and looking it up. (and yes, I've seen the new one that disproves snopes...) This one talked about "gang initiations" going on in my county this weekend - the initiation rite was that they have to kill three women at Walmart. Anyway, for a sec, I was freaked out, cuz if it were true... I COULDA BEEN KILLED!!!
See, I was at Walmart in AF until 1am last night just relaxing for a few hours... you know that feeling, no? After my "check-out high" I walked out to the car by myself with my haul ($175 original prices down to $37 oop using Qs) and loaded the car. Then I studied my receipt in the car (as all good addicts do) before driving off. At 1 am it might not have been the smartest thing to do, but I'm relatively fearless after a good shopping "heist."
Quite frankly, any fear that e-mail could have mustered in me would have been unwarranted. I mean, I'd up and scare the poop out of anyone who tried to take "Roxy the Foxy Boxy*" from me, much less tried to kill me. On the other hand, maybe I could have bribed my attackers with some Yoplait Kids Cups, or a box of Kelloggs cereal, or some Kotex pads... or even some KY Jelly - all of which I got free! Then I'd yell "WHO'S YOUR COUPON MAMA?" which would weird them out enough that they'd be runnin the other way!
Use ME for an initiation rite? Pfffft, I'll initiate them right in to my couponing web and eat 'em for dinner!
THAT's what's up!
*Roxy the Foxy Boxy is the name of my coupon box that I take with me everywhere. In case of fire? First Roxy, THEN the kids. ;o)

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Granny Sycamore Bread. It is so soft, and makes DeLISH toast!

Get PAID to search using SWAGBUCKS
Ok, here's a great idea for those of you who do a lot of searching online. Just sayin...
Introducing.... SWAGBUCKS
In a nutshell, swagbucks are credits you get for searching the internet using a particular search engine. Swagbucks.com is a search engine like google (it’s actually powered by google and ask.com), but they are willing to pay you for doing web searches.
- You can accumulate 20-30 Swagbucks per week for performing as few as five searches per day.
- You can "purchase" gift cards with the Swagbucks. 45 Swagbucks = $5 Amazon credit.
- With average searches, you can make $15 in amazon credit each month just by searching with Swagbucks.
Plus, you can get up to 100 Swagbucks for every friend you refer!
Here's how you can do it:
Step One: Register with Swagbucks.* Anyone can search with swagbucks, but if you want to begin accumulating your bucks, you’ll need to register.*
Step Two: Search
The search. Instead of google, you’ll now use www.Search.Swagbucks.com. There are a few ways to make it easy to remember to use your swagbucks search.
1. Download Swagbucks Toolbar. The toolbar is totally optional - not mandatory, but it makes it easier to be sure to use swagbucks.
2. Set Swagbucks as home page. Again, optional.
3. Bookmark Swagbucks: This will save swagbucks link in your toolbar for easy access.
Step Three: Stockpile Swagbucks!
Swagbucks do NOT expire. You can hoard them as you like! Redeem them for electronics or gift cards!
Thanks KCL
*if you use that link right up there^^^, it will refer you to me, so PLEASE use it if you decide to sign up. Thanks!

Test Drive a 2011 Kia Sorento and make $25
Yep, you read that correctly.
All you* have to do is go and take a 2011 Kia Sorento for a test drive between now and March 15, 2010, get a dealer's signature on this form, and send it in my April 15th.
Easy money, baby!!
*you gotta be 18, kids...
Rebates 101
Ok kids, it's time for
"REBATES 101: Making Money on Things You Already Buy"
This part of couponing is one of my favs. It is like double dipping. We get a good deal at the store using our coupons, THEN we get another good deal in the mail about 5 weeks later... in the form of a rebate check. It's like a little surprise, because by the time it actually comes, we've forgotten about it.
There are all sorts of rebates to be had, but the one I'll use for today's lesson is from SC Johnson. Go HERE and download/print the rebate form - there is a link to it in the middle of the page. They will send you a $5 rebate check if you are willing to purchase 3 items off of THE LIST between now and 6/30/10. They will actually let you do this THREE times per household - which is not normal, but I'll take it!
The List:
Ziploc®
• Glade®
• Windex®
• Scrubbing Bubbles®
• Pledge®
• Shout®
• Fantastik®
• Drano®
• Raid®
• Off®
• Saran™
• Nature’s Source™
Here's one scenario:
At Target you can buy Glade Plugins Scented Gel Warmer for $1.66 each.
$1.66 x 3 = 4.98 + tax = $5.27ish
Get a $5 rebate, and your net cost is .27 (plus a stamp)
BUT if you have access to newspaper coupons, you could use 3 coupons @ $1.50 off each warmer (from the 1/24 Smart Source insert), pay $.77 out of pocket and get a $5 rebate, which equals $4.33 profit!
With this scenario, you are actually MAKING MONEY! Remember, you can do this 3 times per household, so you could easily make $12.99 and have 9 of the Glade Warmers.
Fun, no? :O)

Two cool uses for cardboard boxes!
When you actually get in to this whole coupon/stockpiling thing, you find that your previous storage solutions might work so well any more. If you are cramped as it is, stockpiling might not seem like an option. BUT, here are some ideas - cheap ones - to help with a lack-of-storage situation.
Idea #1
Have you ever seen those awesome can rotating storage units? Useful, yes! Affordable... at $35 each, for me, no. BUT, check out this cool little vid. This gal has a handy husband (a commodity I am a bit short on lately, but I'm sure I can do this!), who has figured out how to MAKE can rotators using cardboard boxes. SWEET, buddy!!

Here's a link to the directions for making them. In that pix they are the off-white boxes you can see on the 2nd and 3rd shelves.

I hope some of you can use these ideas!

Idea #2
This is a pix from couponer Meghan. She said, "It is double ply cardboard boxes that we got from the pet store (they were going to through them away) the flaps are cut off, and just stacked on their side." HOW COOL IS THAT????
Thanks KCL

Games for a quarter!
(...and ya, I can't figure out how to turn this pix around this morning. lol)
I found these at Target last night. The price is $5.24. Inside each game box is a coupon worth $5. So, I pulled the coupon out and used it to buy the game... making the cost of the game .24 cents!
I bought six. (I know...) Maggie gave one to her 3rd grade teacher for a Valentine's gift today.

Fish, anyone???
Finally, a coupon for FREE fish food! They go through it so fast, don't they? Ha, NOT!
I'd love to use this coupon, but we just gave our fish away last week. I was going to flush him, but then as I thought about it, I wondered if there could be a filter or something that might keep him from reaching the deep blue sea, so... I gave him to the neighbor.
ANYWAY, if you have fish, HERE's the link. You can use the coupon at Walmart and get the food for free.
