Ok, here's a great idea for those of you who do a lot of searching online.  Just sayin...

What are Swagbucks?

In a nutshell, swagbucks are credits you get for searching the internet using a particular search engine.  Swagbucks.com is a search engine like google (it’s actually powered by google and ask.com), but they are willing to pay you for doing web searches.

• You can accumulate 20-30 Swagbucks per week for performing as few as five searches per day.
•  You can "purchase" gift cards with the Swagbucks.    45 Swagbucks = $5 Amazon credit.
• With average searches, you can make $15 in amazon credit each month just by searching with Swagbucks.

Plus, you can get up to 100 Swagbucks for every friend you refer!

Here's how you can do it:

Step One:  Register with Swagbucks.*  Anyone can search with swagbucks, but if you want to begin accumulating your bucks, you’ll need to register.*

Step Two: Search

        The search.  Instead of google, you’ll now use www.Search.Swagbucks.com. There are a few ways to make it easy to remember to use your swagbucks search.

1. Download Swagbucks Toolbar.  The toolbar is totally optional - not mandatory, but it makes it easier to be sure to use swagbucks.

2. Set Swagbucks as home page. Again, optional.

3. Bookmark Swagbucks:  This will save swagbucks link in your toolbar for easy access.

Step Three: Stockpile Swagbucks!

Swagbucks do NOT expire.  You can hoard them as you like!  Redeem them for electronics or gift cards!

Rebates 101

Ok kids, it's time for  

"REBATES 101: Making Money on Things You Already Buy"

This part of couponing is one of my favs.  It is like double dipping.  We get a good deal at the store using our coupons, THEN we get another good deal in the mail about 5 weeks later... in the form of a rebate check.  It's like a little surprise, because by the time it actually comes, we've forgotten about it.

There are all sorts of rebates to be had, but the one I'll use for today's lesson is from SC Johnson.  Go HERE and download/print the rebate form - there is a link to it in the middle of the page.  They will send you a $5 rebate check if you are willing to purchase 3 items off of THE LIST between now and 6/30/10.  They will actually let you do this THREE times per household - which is not normal, but I'll take it!

Here's one scenario:

At Target you can buy Glade Plugins Scented Gel Warmer for $1.66 each.

$1.66 x 3 = 4.98 + tax = $5.27ish
Get a $5 rebate, and your net cost is .27 (plus a stamp)

BUT if you have access to newspaper coupons, you could use 3 coupons @ $1.50 off each warmer (from the 1/24 Smart Source insert), pay $.77 out of pocket and get a $5 rebate, which  equals $4.33 profit!

With this scenario, you are actually MAKING MONEY!  Remember, you can do this 3 times per household, so you could easily make $12.99 and have 9 of the Glade Warmers.
